Rio’s elderly owners died and his owners son and his wife threw him out onto the street to live under a bush in their garden. They fed him but wouldn’t allow him indoors. He was nineteen with advanced heart and kidney disease. One of us found him and kept him for the final six weeks of his life, visiting the vet daily for treatment and pain relief. He died surrounded by love and warmth.
